Fur Auction and Shipment Information
As everyone knows, every year I sell wallhanger quality animals to sell on here and Etsy. That said I sold most of last years stock and with the Fur Auction next month for my state, this means I'll be getting in more furs to sell in the coming months. As far as things go, I've been told fur prices have been tanking meaning buyers like me are going to get a deal on the furs for sale this year. I wanted to hear out what you folks might be interested in wallhanger wise? I usually buy up coyotes and any type of unique colored animal that shows up on the table. I know some were looking to foxes which I might look into getting a few to sell. The auction is next month which means the furs should be back and ready to sell come late Spring or early Summer depending.
For international folks
, I've worked out shipping international the proper way since over the years the request to ship internationally has grown and figure it was time to get the gears rolling on that. I still need to do a test run with the broker I'm in contact with before I'll full advertise that I can offer it, basically need someone to buy from me so I can do a test on the process and gauge how well it goes.
All I will say is regards of it, one box internationally that has non-cited/non-protect animals will run you a $200 fee to ship it
. The box can be any size and have as many pelts, mounts, etc in it, the fee is the same. CITES animals will cost more and packages will take on average 30 days to reach its destination for non-CITES parts, 3 months or more for CITES animals. You will also need to double check to make sure that the animal parts you are buying (ex. coyote pelt) isn't consider a protected species in your country. My advice for you folks is to 'bulk order' so that you can divide up the cost of the box to make it cheaper in the long run. I will not ship internationally any other way besides through a broker/middle man, do not ask me to ship via postal with a customs label.
What I'm Attending This Year
For those that live in or around my area that might want to get a chance to meet up with me and whatnot.
New Jersey Fur Harvesters Auction- March 2015
Garden State Taxidermy Association Taxidermy Convention- July 2015 (TBA)
Unfortunately will not be entering the Pennsylvania Taxidermy Convention this year, can’t afford the trip there this year and have no works to enter there at the moment. Its also right around the corner and the same time as the fur auction so for those reasons will not be going.
Also highly debate attending FA United for this year? Would have to see since that would be my first time going and well dead things and furries aren’t a good combo. Do believe 2016 will definitely be going to FA United if everything pans out.
I’ll update on stuff when time comes around or if I’ll be going to anything else.
