About back in April I decided to take a "sudden" vacation which is where I am now. For those who don't know, I'm taking a vacation around August where I'm flying over to Europe. More precise, I'm going to be in the Netherlands for most of the trip and spending about a week in the United Kingdom. You are all wondering why I decided to do so? One reason is to do what my parents have been asking me to "to get out of the house" which this is the ultimate getting of the house trick I'll done probably in my lifetime as of now. Another reason is that been out of college for about a year and have been rather... guess down in the dumps about where I am (still only have a part time job and such) and figured taking a trip like this before I lose the chance to is a good reason to and probably will help me out better myself as a person as I'll probably experience a lot of things that are far different than being in the US.
The final reason though and probably the most important one, to meet up with people I've known for a while and talk to daily on Skype. When I make it over there, will be stay with Lady-Tragedy
most of my time there. It was very, very nice
of her and her folks to allow me a place to stay since the trip alone is costing me a lot. While I'm out there planning to go site-seeing with her along with some other adventures that should be fun. At some point midway in, should be meeting up with Uncanny-Illustrator
which that will be awesome too! 8D About midway into my vacation should be tagging along with them to the UK where we'll all be hanging with Drecanic
for a week. After we go back to the Netherlands then I should be coming back home about a few days later where I'll relax a day or two before returning back to work and resuming my daily life.
I can say preparing for this trip wasn't easy and it wasn't easy telling my parents about the trip either. If there was one thing I was the most nervous about was telling them I was going to do the trip, I honestly thought they would tell me "No" but to my shock, they didn't tell me that and have been supportive about it. Basically summed up to that they don't want to hold me back and that I'm nearly 24 now and can make my own decisions now despite still living under their roof. Not exactly easy to explain to your parents that you are taking a vacation overseas and that your stay with people you haven't met face to face but never the less, they've been helping me out with preparing for it and making sure I'm on top of everything with planning down to keeping in touch with them while out there.
Definitely am excited about the trip, literally counting down the days as they get closer and closer but at the same time, I'm also nervous since this is a new experience for me and that I'm traveling on my own. Never the less, remaining brave about it and have spent many hours doing research about navigating, currency and other stuff. Lastly if you are wondering, yes I'll have access to internet for most of my time out there, planning to keep tabs on my adventures via my Tumblr blog
. As of those who keep in touch with me via cell phone, I will not be able to receive texts and calls from you. I'm going to be using Skype and What's App to communicate through the phone so long as I'm not charged too much to use internet on my phone.
And commissions I have in queue right now will be done before the trip and as of my Etsy shop, the shop will be closed for most of August but will be able to answer questions sent about items or possible commissions. I'm actually expecting my fur auction pelts to be back soon, crossing my fingers around mid-July so I can quickly get them all sold and use those fund for the trip.
